Both Kevin Gausman and Jose Berrios Could Get 100 Wins This Season

Gausman is currently at 88 wins in his career, and Berrios is at 83. It is more than achievable for both of them to hit the 100 mark and earn themselves 100 wins this season. That would be a massive milestone in their careers as starting pitchers for the Blue Jays. Gausman is now 33 years old, and Berrios is 29. Both are still young and have a lot that they want to accomplish. They would love to both celebrate earning this milestone this season in their career as they will do all they can to help the Blue Jays. Both Gausman and Berrios had solid seasons with the Blue Jays last season. Gausman was a finalist for the AL Cy Young Award, and Berrios earned his first Gold Glove Award. It would be nice for both of them to add 100 wins to their list of accomplishments.

Jordan Romano Could Reach 100 Saves

Romano is closing in on 100 saves, possibly becoming the all-time saves leader for Canadian relievers. Unfortunately, Romano will start the regular season on the IL. Romano is currently at 97 saves and is closest to breaking their records in MLB. Romano is also close to reaching 300 strikeouts and is currently at 272. It would be epic to see him reach both of these milestones this season.

Justin Turner Is Close To A Career of 200 Home runs (187)

Turner currently has 187 career home runs and only needs 13 more to reach 200 career home runs. This is a huge milestone for the slugger. Also, it is compelling that it will be with a new team if he does reach it. Turner shouldn’t have any issues reaching that milestone the way he swung the bat in Spring Training. Turner hit a moonshot of a homerun this Spring, and because it was hit so high, it was referred to as a moonshot. That won’t be the last time fans see him hit balls out of the park like that.

Cavan Biggio Is Close To A Career Of 200 RBIs (167)

Biggio is currently sitting at 167 RBIs in his career. He would have to record 33 RBIs this season to earn 200 in his career. Last season, Biggio recorded 40, and he is set to have an even better year, so he is surely capable of reaching this career milestone for RBIs. Biggio earned more playing time last season due to his production and good at-bats for the Blue Jays. It will be thrilling to see him play more, as he deserves it. The good thing about Biggio is that he is a utility player. Biggio will play multiple positions, but we should expect to see him play second base mostly.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa Is Close To A Career Of 600 hits (577)

IKF is currently at 577 career hits. His biggest season was in 2021 with the Texas Rangers, when he recorded 172 hits. He needs 23 hits to hit 600 hits in his career. While IKF is no slugger, he recorded 79 hits with the New York Yankees last season. The 29-year-old has played third base and outfield, but with Matt Chapman signing with the San Francisco Giants, IKF will play third base. He is also a former Gold Glove winner, which is precisely what the Blue Jays need at third base.

George Springer Is Close To A Career Of 700 RBIs (656)

“Springer Dinger” is a common nickname that’s been given to George when he has hit home runs. We saw some nice “Springer Dingers” this Spring; fans hope to see plenty of them throughout the regular season. Springer is currently at 656 career RBIs and needs 44 more to break his career record and reach 700. Springer is the type of player who plays with great enthusiasm and energy, one of his strongest attributes. Last season, Springer dealt with a hitting drought that caused him a lot of frustration, but he never gave up and continued to hustle until the hitless curse was broken. More impressively, Springer had an at-bat where he fouled off 13 pitches and got himself a homerun. Let’s talk about major hustle right there for George.

Varsho will enter his second season with the Blue Jays and has worked hard to prepare for a comeback season. While many felt bittersweet about his 2023 season, he was still the DRS Leader for MLB and was robbed of a Gold Glove Award. But there’s no sense reminiscing on the past as it’s time to focus on the present.

Chris Bassitt Is Close To A Career of 900 strikeouts (857)

Last but certainly not least is “The Mound on the Hound,” aka Chris Bassitt. Bassitt had a strong season with the Blue Jays in 2023 with a 16-8 record and a 3.60 ERA. He is close to earning 900 strikeouts in his career and needs 43 more to earn the milestone. Bassitt had 186 strikeouts in 2023 with the Blue Jays. He was referred to as a “workhorse,” he is the type of pitcher who is very hard on himself, even when making minor mistakes. Bassitt knew at the end of the 2023 season that the Blue Jays didn’t beat the Minnesota Twins in the playoffs because of the lack of urgency, RISP, and hustle that was missing. He put it on social media, stating they didn’t play well. Using this as motivation to have a better 2024 end of the season will surely be helpful if the Blue Jays can make it to the playoffs again.
